About the Studio

BoutDatLife Studio is the fine art practice of Michael James — a Jamaican-Dominican American creator working in large-scale narrative figuration rooted in ancestral memory, Caribbean and Latino heritage, and the urban experience. His paintings are constructed in layered acrylic, spray paint, and mixed media with a proprietary dual-state photoluminescent system that reveals a second painting in darkness: the ancestors, present.

The foundational body of work spans three series — Ancestors Chat, Rhythm Series, and Cityscape Series — six original large-scale canvases engineered for architectural scale and available across three licensing tiers. Originals are exhibition-only and not for sale.

BoutDatLife Studio operates a direct B2B enterprise IP licensing model serving hospitality, luxury real estate, and maritime environments across Atlanta, Miami, and Santo Domingo.
