Bout Dat Life is the fine art practice of Michael James — an Atlanta, GA–based career artist and visual designer working in large-format mixed media. His work explores Afro-Caribbean identity, rhythm, and cultural memory through bold, layered compositions.
Michael is currently open to gallery representation, solo and group exhibition opportunities, and institutional partnerships.
Current Work
- Saturday Night Soul, 2026 — Mixed media on canvas. The dance floor as holy ground. Black joy and culture in motion.
- Cityscape Series (Uptown Soul, Midtown Soul, Downtown Soul), 2026 — Urban identity and Black city life.
- Rhythm Series (Her Rhythm, His Beat), 2026 — Afro-Caribbean ancestral pulse and the drum as language and memory.
All original works are unique. Prints are available as limited editions of 100 — no reprints once sold out.
